Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Media and Public Affairs Advisor to join our team at Hudson Australia. As a key member of our external relations functions, you will play a crucial role in supporting our proactive and reactive media relations, media reporting and analysis, and website updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Media Materials Development: Draft media materials, including releases, briefs, and responses, to effectively communicate our message to the public.
  • Media Engagement: Pitch stories and schedule media announcements to secure media coverage and promote our brand.
  • Media Monitoring: Manage our media inbox and monitor coverage to stay on top of media trends and developments.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Support media announcements and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Event Support: Assist with external events and the virtual newsroom to enhance our media presence.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support and collaborate across teams to ensure the smooth operation of our external relations functions.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic communicator with a passion for media and public affairs, a sharp attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information. Experience in the energy sector or government is a plus.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in communications, journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to write and edit media materials, talking points, and speeches.
  • Experience with media engagement, monitoring, and distribution platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience in managing priorities and working in fast-paced environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in communication, media, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
