Job Opportunity

The role of an Automation Test Specialist is critical to enhancing the quality and reliability of digital services through robust test automation practices.

As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking workplace, you will contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions that support strategic objectives.

You will play a key role in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks, ensuring alignment with best practices.

Your work will directly support digital transformation initiatives, helping to streamline testing processes, reduce delivery timelines, and improve system resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Tricentis TOSCA to support continuous integration and delivery across complex systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements.
  • Execute automated test suites, analyse results, and report defects using standard tools and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of test frameworks, standards, and best practices within the organisation.
  • Support the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and assist with test environment configuration and management.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to testers and stakeholders on TOSCA capabilities and automation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with government standards for security, privacy, and accessibility in all testing activities.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of Government ICT policies and frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in Information Technology or Software Engineering are required.
  • Commitment to workplace diversity, participative work practices, workplace health and safety, and the ACTPS Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrated experience in test automation using Tricentis TOSCA, including test case design, execution, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Experience working within Agile and/or DevOps environments, with a focus on continuous testing and delivery.
  • Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
