Job Opportunity

Seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to support mine closure projects.

About the Position

This role involves delivering mine closure support for clients, including establishing closure visions and strategies, and performing technical work focused on various aspects of mine operation closure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a senior representative delivering mine closure support for clients as required.
  • Peer review company reports and other deliverables.
  • Develop business opportunities for existing and new clients.
  • Develop proposals and provide deliverables that meet client needs within budget.
  • Support business development by attending conferences and presenting technical papers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and share knowledge across teams.
  • Travel for domestic and international clients and project work.
  • Support and mentor staff as needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks as necessary.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or natural/physical sciences (mandatory) and preferably a post-graduate qualification in a related field.
  • At least 15 years' experience at a Principal capacity.
  • Preferably experience working on closure strategy development and technical aspects of closure, particularly for high-risk landforms.
  • Strong understanding of mine planning design processes and key factors influencing mine design and closure optionality.
  • Knowledge of legislative framework surrounding mine closure in Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, and/or mentoring small teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing cross-discipline project teams.
  • Well-developed report writing skills.
  • Willngness to travel to remote sites for project engagements and a current driver's license.

Additional Information

  • Experience in the consulting sector is advantageous.
  • A strong network in the industry is desirable.
