Job Title: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated mechanical design engineer to join our team. This role involves designing and developing complex mechanical systems, including plant and systems for construction, as well as machines and components for manufacture.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and be able to interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and engineering standards. They will also have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to manage projects, coordinate teams, and deliver results within deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1–2 years of relevant engineering experience and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have a strong analytical and problem-solving ability and be able to develop and implement solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review functional statements, organisational charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units.
  • Analyse workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data, and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies.
  • Design mechanical equipment, machines, components, and products for manufacture, as well as plant and systems for construction.
  • Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Carry out inspections to ensure optimum performance is maintained.

Qualifications:
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and engineering standards.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, coordinate teams, and deliver results within deadlines.
