Description

Work for a maritime-oriented high-end design house and technical consulting firm driven by a passion for solving complex, real-world problems.

About Us

We deliver design, engineering, and consulting excellence in a world of ever-increasing change: growing compliance, new global competitors, the pressure to do more with less, faster innovation cycles, and less time to exploit market positions or new technologies.

Our purpose is to help navigate some of the most important and impactful engineering challenges of our time, creating an environment where people with outstanding technical knowledge strive to deliver a safer, more efficient, more effective, and sustainable future.

With around 1,300+ professionals in 27 offices across the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe, we draw upon a wide range of experience to provide high-quality, high-value products and capabilities.

We are wholly owned by our people. Our Employee Benefit Trust guarantees our independence, giving our team the freedom to think without limits and create ground-breaking solutions.

Next Steps

In This Role You Will
  • Perform professional technical work involving independence, originality, and judgment.
  • Serve as a technical specialist in your area of expertise.
  • Act as a work-winning champion, developing bids and liaising with project managers.
  • Provide technical advice to management and supervise engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Share knowledge and mentor within the organization.
  • Promote quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Engage with clients for service delivery and business development.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through papers and presentations.
  • Possibly act as Project Manager, managing scope, time, cost, and quality.
Specific Tasks May Include
  • Design review and auditing of machinery and structures.
  • Concept and detailed design of machinery and structures.
  • Testing, stress analysis, and modeling using advanced techniques.
  • Failure and fatigue analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of specialist software.
  • Preparation of reports, manuals, and documentation.
  • Promotion of company capabilities.
  • Machinery inspection, including mining and port equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with machinery such as stackers, reclaimers, excavators, and port machinery.
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes (e.g., AS4324.1, AS1418, ISO 5049, FEMII).
  • Practical on-site maintenance and operational knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field.
  • Minimum 15 years' post-graduation experience.
  • Relevant registration (CPEng, RPEQ, RPEV) or ability to obtain.
  • Experience in sales and business development.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and client-focused.
  • Experience in multi-site organizations and the resources sector.
