As a technical security specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding vital interests through intelligence services.

The position requires working collaboratively to make informed decisions and provide expert advice and support to project objectives, in accordance with best practice and physical/technical security policy and guidelines.

You will conduct Technical Security Countermeasures (TSCM) inspections as required, contribute to security compliance, including risk management and mitigation, and manage and contribute to reporting for key internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include delivering complex work in line with agreed technical and physical security outcomes, providing accurate and specialized advice, using expertise, good judgment, and in-depth knowledge to anticipate and develop key improvements, resolve issues, and queries as they arise, and make decisions.

You will also establish, enhance, and promote effective client/customer and internal/external stakeholder relationships to obtain information and ensure alignment with organizational priorities, promoting your agency's objectives and contributing to cross-agency planning to achieve operational outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high level of knowledge and understanding of current Australian Government security arrangements, including the Australian Protective Security Policy Framework.
  • Current knowledge of physical and technical security policies and practices.
  • An ability to implement proactive and effective security policies.
