Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Front End Cashier Assistant to join our team at Costco Wholesale Moorabbin. As a key member of our front-end team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and Assist Members
    • Welcoming members and assisting them with loading their orders onto the conveyor belt
    • Determining member preferences for packing and answering questions
    • Providing information on special promotions and thanking members for their business
  • Packing and Loading Orders
    • Packing member orders into boxes and loading them onto a separate trolley or flatbed
    • Checking packing for tampering and following all safety and security procedures
    • Assisting members with loading orders into their vehicles when necessary
  • Supporting Cashiers
    • Running for items such as merchandise, boxes, and register supplies to keep lines moving smoothly
    • Transferring items not on the belt to a separate trolley or flatbed as cashiers scan them
  • Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment
    • Maintaining the cleanliness of the register area and general front-end area
    • Cleaning spills and trip hazards immediately
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Retrieving trolleys and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with a clasping hook
    • Keeping the lot free of debris and sweeping in front of the building
    • Performing related tasks such as set-up and closing duties for the department
  • Supporting Other Areas
    • Assisting other areas in the department as necessary
    • Assisting in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
  • Operational Tasks
    • Operating mechanical trash compactors and cardboard balers
    • Assisting with other operational tasks as needed
    Requirements
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional customer service
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
    • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and varying shifts
    • Ability to obtain an RSA certification
