Coal Operations Director QLD

About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the CEO of Metarock, this Coal Operations Director will lead the QLD coal operations and drive exceptional client and project acquisition, retention, service delivery, partnership management, and network development across the business in QLD.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have extensive senior leadership experience and well-established networks in underground coal mining, enabling them to maintain existing works and secure new partnerships. As a strategic leader, you will use your operational expertise and industry reputation to guide Mastermyne's success during the significant shift in the coal sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CEO Coal Contracting on strategic planning and execution of business plans;
- Extensive travel requirements to foster strong partnerships statewide;
- Generate opportunities, review tender requirements, and provide expert advice on all tender submissions;
- Implement effective systems and processes to support existing projects and future growth of the QLD coal contracting operations;
- Mobilise key projects as planned.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Significant experience in operational roles, preferably in managing large-scale underground projects;
- Well-known in the coal industry for high service delivery and specialist knowledge;
- Breadth of experience across various types of projects and contract arrangements;
- Prior experience working for both a contract miner and an owner is highly desirable;
- Solutions-focused with the ability to understand a client's underlying drivers;
- Continuous improvement mindset with a consultative approach to implementing changes;
- Demonstrated experience with contract values ranging from $10 – $70 million per year.
Salary:$150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience
