About the Opportunity:

The QLD Coal Operations Leader will join an established underground coal company that's built a strong reputation on delivering value for employees, clients, communities and shareholders. This leadership role will oversee QLD coal operations and drive client acquisition, service delivery, partnership management, and maintaining successful networks across the business.

About You:

As a seasoned leader with extensive senior experience in underground coal mining, you will have well-established networks to help maintain existing works and open doors to new partnerships. Your ability to mingle with stakeholders at all levels and influence decisions with your business acumen is crucial. With a strong operational background and industry reputation, you will guide Mastermyne towards success as we navigate the significant shift in the coal sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the CEO in strategic planning and execution of business plans;
  • Extensive travel requirements to secure and foster strong partnerships state-wide;
  • Generating opportunities, reviewing tender requirements, and providing expert advice on tender submissions;
  • Establishing and implementing systems and processes to support existing projects and future growth of the QLD coal contracting operations;
  • A hands-on approach to mobilise key projects as planned.

Salary: $180,000 - $200,000 per annum

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Significant experience in operational roles, preferably in managing large-scale underground projects;
  • A well-known figure in the coal industry for high service delivery and specialist knowledge;
  • Breadth of experience across various types of projects and contract arrangements;
  • Prior experience working for both a contract miner and an owner is highly desirable;
  • Solutions-focussed, with the ability to understand a client's underlying drivers;
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a consultative approach to implementing changes;
  • Demonstrated experience with contract values ranging from $10 – $70 million per year.
