About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head Chef to join our team at Coogee Pavilion, a leading restaurant in the Merivale group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading a team of 20+ chefs and driving the food offering forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that showcase the best of seasonal ingredients and coastal cuisine
  • Manage kitchen financials, including inventory and labor costs
  • Build and motivate a high-performing kitchen team
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu concepts
  • Ensure consistent high-quality food and exceptional customer service

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on seasonal ingredients and creative menu development
  • Strong financial management skills, with the ability to manage kitchen budgets and inventory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and other members of the culinary team
