About the Position

We are seeking an accomplished Mine Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Technical Services group, you will play a vital role in the development and execution of mine plans that drive production efficiency and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive mine plans that meet or exceed production targets
  • Ensure short-term plans align with medium- and long-term mine objectives
  • Design optimal mining methods based on deposit characteristics and surroundings
  • Create detailed proposals for suitable mining methods and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with surveyors to verify designs and implement control measures for excavations and drill sites
  • Work closely with Mine Superintendents and Technical Services personnel to achieve targeted production and ventilation standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on resource allocation and problem-solving strategies

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
  • Experience in underground mining, preferably stope mining
  • Advanced computer skills, ideally with Deswik software
  • Understanding of relevant legislative requirements
  • Self-motivated, analytical, and good organisational skills
