About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with senior leaders to support various projects related to public sector accounting standards and climate-related disclosures. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with technical drafting to support the development of Service Performance Reporting principles and requirements, as well as climate-related disclosures for the Australian public sector.
  • Identifying necessary adaptations for the application of international standards, such as the IPSASB Exposure Draft and AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures, within the Australian context.
  • Analysing stakeholder feedback and drafting staff papers to inform members on potential modifications to existing standards like AASB 1059 and AASB 18.
  • Supporting outreach and engagement activities with key stakeholders, including documenting results to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contributing to benchmarking exercises and preparing educational materials to enhance understanding of financial reporting standards.
About You

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented technical staff member with extensive knowledge of the Australian not-for-profit sector, including a thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards as they apply to NFP entities. Your expertise in applying the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in the public sector, as well as your ability to prepare or audit financial statements, will be invaluable to our team.
