Employee Relations & Industrial Relations

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR team at Foot Locker. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will provide specialist support to leaders, influencing, coaching, and mentoring to develop sound stakeholder relationships, identify and mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with relevant workplace laws, industrial instruments, and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage day-to-day aspects of employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, grievance management, and workplace investigations.
  2. Coach managers on performance management, absenteeism, grievance management, policy application, and other HR matters.
  3. Support managers through investigation and disciplinary processes, ensuring they are conducted fairly and in compliance with regulations and policies.
  4. Manage the performance management process to drive high performance and accountability.
  5. Represent the company in matters before the Fair Work Commission and other relevant bodies, if needed.

HR Policies

  1. Develop and manage HR and Work Health & Safety policies, practices, and programs to ensure compliance and a consistent global approach.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  1. Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and Hiring Managers on recruitment, workforce planning activities, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  2. Managing onboarding, guiding new hires through procedures, completing documentation, and conducting orientations.

Talent Management

  1. Identify L&D needs for relevant client groups.
  2. Working closely with the local, global HR teams and external providers, manage the development and delivery of L&D programs for corporate and field teams, where appropriate.
  3. Assess company culture, identify gaps in areas such as leadership, succession, teamwork, communication, and recognition, and develop strategies to address these issues in order to foster employee engagement.

HR Operations

  1. Partner with and support the APAC HR Services team on all operational and administrative matters.
  2. Manage and support other HR projects, as needed.

Work Health & Safety

  1. Partner with the HR Services team to support Work Health & Safety and risk management policies and strategies for corporate and field teams.

Qualifications

  1. 4-7 years' experience in Human Resources with specialization in Employee and/or Industrial Relations.
  2. Experience within fast-paced commercial environment.
  3. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  4. Proven ability to work through end-to-end complex employee relations cases.
  5. Strong negotiation, coaching, and influencing skills.
  6. Experience working across and effectively influencing stakeholders within a range of levels across an organization.
  7. Track record in developing strong relationships internally, externally, and across various business units.
