3D Mechanical Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of 3D Mechanical Designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical drawings and 3D models, as well as assisting with field and manufacturing problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed technical drawings at all levels including layouts, arrangements, assemblies, and details
  • Develop 3D models and detailing using input from engineers and senior designers in the team
  • Determine factors such as tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly
  • Create designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards
  • Assist with field and manufacturing problems
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
  • Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Autocad, Professional Vault, Navisworks)
  • 5+ years' experience in a design role or related experience
  • Bulk Material Handling or Heavy Industrial/Mining Industry experience
  • Belt Conveyor Design experience
  • Working knowledge of Australian standards AS4024, AS1100, AS1654, and AS1657
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
