About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist to join our renowned Geotechnical & Tunnels team in Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering geotechnical engineering and engineering geology services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and design projects from proposal preparation to fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the delivery of dam surveillance, safety inspections, risk assessments, and development of safety management systems.
  • Use your interpretation and design skills to contribute to geotechnical projects in the energy transition, mining industry, and transport industry.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team throughout project delivery.
  • Drive business development through successful delivery of projects.
  • Promote a safe working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards.
Requirements
  • A Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology degree.
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology, preferably with local experience.
  • Experience and passion for tailings storage facility and water dam management.
  • A successful track record in undertaking and managing field investigations for small to large size geotechnical projects.
  • Track record of promoting innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering to create value for clients and their projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation/review of written technical reports and client communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design, including rock/soil/structure interaction.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Ability to take responsibility for geotechnical design delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Natural talent in promoting a safe working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards.
