Lead Research Manager
">St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead and develop excellent performance across its hospitals.
This exciting opportunity involves leading the Research Directorate, overseeing research activity, promoting and facilitating research, and developing research opportunities and educational services.
The successful applicant will ensure that the research community understands and abides by its obligations under various Federal and State legislation, including guidelines, Codes and Standards governing human research.
Key accountabilities include:
- Participating in the provision of research services, grants, events, education and research promotion and facilitation.
- Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders providing a knowledgeable, competent, accurate and timely service.
- Planning and implementing the annual Research Directorate Operational Plan, ensuring the Research Directorate meets relevant targets set in the Strategic Plan.
- Developing, monitoring and managing budgets, working with the Director to identify new revenue streams.
- Providing advice to individuals involved in research on ethical, legal and insurance requirements.
In this role, you will be expected to build excellent relationships with key external agencies, such as the National Health and Medical Research Council.
You will also be involved in budget development and management, particularly revenue maximisation.
This business-critical appointment requires high-level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a large and diverse organisation.
A tertiary qualification in the medical, biomedical or life sciences field, extensive experience managing administrative units, and sound knowledge of Australian law and standards relating to research activity are essential.
