Geologist for Underground Mining Project

AngloGold Ashanti is one of the world's largest gold producers with operations spanning across four continents. Our globally diverse portfolio is supported by focused exploration in established and new gold producing regions.

We are seeking a permanent underground mine geologist to join our geology team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be based on a roster of 8 days on / 6 days off and participate in a unique underground grade control process utilizing five underground RC rigs and conditional simulation.

  • This role requires delivering the grade control, ore definition, ore production, material tracking, and reconciliation processes to meet monthly production schedules.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the senior mine geologist and other team members to ensure timely execution of the mine plan.

To succeed in this role, you should have a relevant tertiary degree in Geology, 2+ years of experience in mine geology, and a strong sense of safety. You should also be proficient in 3D software packages, experienced in QAQC practices, and possess full Australian working rights. Additionally, you should have a comprehensive understanding of the mining cycle, excellent communication and written skills, and the ability to obtain a national police clearance.
