Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Video Producer to create engaging video content for our Chinese-language services on web and social media.

The role involves executing a video strategy to reach new audiences, deepen engagement, and meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key responsibilities include creating, sourcing, shooting, producing, and editing video content for social media and web, working primarily in Adobe Creative Cloud.

Publishing video content to multiple platforms and meeting agreed deadlines is also a key requirement of the job.

This role reports to the Senior Editor and is a rostered casual position located in either Sydney or Melbourne Bureau.

Requirements:
  • A solid understanding of the Chinese community in Australia and the kind of content that will best appeal to these audiences.
  • Experience creating video for social media and/or web from start to finish, preferably in a news context.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and animation using the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects).
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Cantonese and English is required.
  • Excellent journalistic and storytelling skills, and sound editorial judgement are necessary for success in this role.
