We're seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join our team at Tropicana on a site-based 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, focused on delivering exceptional results.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to contribute to our team's success. As a Mine Geologist, you will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of open pit production activities, including grade control, data validation, liaison with contractors, inspection and monitoring of mining activities; and ensuring the short-term planning targets are met.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adhere to all safety procedures, identifying hazards and reporting incidents, working in a safe manner at all times.
  • Design and schedule grade control drilling programs for short and medium-term planning requirements.
  • Coordinate grade control drilling activities ensuring that all activities maintain a high level of safety and sample QA/QC.
  • Interpret geological mapping and provide valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Validate and analyze QA/QC data relating to drilling, sampling and assaying, ensuring high-quality sampling and lab protocols are upheld.
  • Produce high-quality grade control models using conditional simulation techniques.
  • Contribute to short and medium-term mining schedules and coordination of material movement and crusher feed with the Mining Alliance partners.
  • Assist in stockpile management, mine-to-mill, and resource reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions that drive efficiency and excellence.

What You'll Need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology or a related field.
  • Significant experience in open pit mine geology, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Vulcan, Datashed, and MP3 estimation software or equivalent.
  • Current manual Western Australian 'C' class drivers license.
  • Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (mandatory).
  • A National Police Clearance.
