Compliance Specialist Role

A high-performing professional is sought after to undertake key responsibilities in our Sydney-based operation. This Compliance Specialist position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the firm adheres to regulatory requirements.

  • The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and managing Conflict Clearance processes for new Global Banking transactions with APAC nexus.
  • They will utilize various databases to gather company information, identify potential conflicts, reputational, and/or regulatory risks.
  • Any identified conflicts, risks, or reputational issues will need to be escalated to relevant functions in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Collaboration with banking teams and other departments will be necessary to ensure full compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Maintenance of internal databases, including the team's filing system, and recording Conflict Clearance, Business Review Group (BRG), and KYC approvals will be essential.
  • Support will be required in organizing internal Business Approval committees by scheduling calls, preparing materials, and updating records.
  • Preparation of materials for regional/global management committees will also be part of the job duties.

Applicants should possess several years of experience working in a bank, financial services, accounting, or legal firm. Prior experience in a Business Selection and Conflicts team within an investment bank is preferred.
