Job Summary:

The role of Concert Operations Coordinator is critical to the smooth functioning of the Symphonic Ensembles program at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

About the Role:

Under the supervision of the Artistic Operations Manager, you will oversee orchestral and wind band rehearsals, ensuring all logistical arrangements are in place for a successful concert experience. You will facilitate setup and teardown, room preparation, music distribution, and provide support to students and staff as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of orchestral and wind band rehearsals, including set up and pack down, room preparation, and music distribution
  • Attend all concerts and assist with staging requirements in collaboration with Orchestral and Production Coordinators
  • Finalization of production, logistical, and technical arrangements with the Orchestral Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and other relevant staff
  • Audition assistance, including excerpt information packs and candidate coordination
  • Support Stage Management operations during Orchestral Concerts as directed by the Artistic Operations Manager
  • Procurement and dissemination of music parts and scores, including bowing arrangements and necessary documentation
  • Administration tasks such as courier jobs, postage, and ad-hoc payments to students
