Role Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Drill and Blast Engineer to lead our drill and blast operations at Grange Resources in Savage River. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and leadership abilities to drive efficiency and excellence in our operations.


About the Role

This key leadership position involves overseeing the drill and blast team, providing technical consulting services, and ensuring the implementation of best practices in drill and blast operations. As a Senior Drill and Blast Engineer, you'll be responsible for mentoring mine planning staff, standardizing site processes, and utilizing your industry network to recruit talent and facilitate upskilling of team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Drill & Blast team in providing industry best practice consulting services for operational and growth projects
  • Mentor mine planning staff and ensure succession planning
  • Standardize site D&B processes to achieve efficiencies within agreed timeframes
  • Utilize your experience and industry network to recruit talent and facilitate upskilling of team members

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in drill and blast operations and open cut mining environments. You'll also need to possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a self-motivated attitude. Experience with electronic detonators, pre-splitting, and blast design software is highly regarded.
