About the Role

The General Manager Sports and Events is responsible for leading the delivery of events for a leading sports and entertainment organisation.

This role provides leadership and direction to a team in procuring and delivering world-class events, commercial content, and catering services for multiple venues.

The role ensures our self-managed venues are programmed and delivered to provide safe, compliant, and high-quality customer experiences while developing and optimising venue usage, increasing patronage, and maximising financial returns.

This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements discussed with the successful candidate, including hours of work and remote work options. The nature of the role requires weekend and after-hours work as required.

Mobility is required between the portfolio of facilities on a regular basis, with the possibility of extension based at HBF Stadium in Mount Claremont.

About the Person

The ideal candidate will have high-level skills and experience in event procurement, management, and delivery, including:

  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills, including contract negotiation experience
  • Established networks and positive relationships with sport and entertainment providers
  • A proven track record in delivering safe and excellent customer experience events, with high customer satisfaction and patronage results
  • Strong people management skills and experience, including management of large event teams
  • High-level financial management skills and business acumen
