
Critical Care Specialist

Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. Our hospital facility, co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park, offers a unique blend of acute and private care services.
We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative environment among our healthcare professionals. As a valued member of our team, you will contribute to the planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based patient care standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the nursing team with clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and professional development.
- Maintaining adherence to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics, legislative requirements, and organizational policies.
- Fostering a culture of learning through clinical presentations, workshops, and peer-to-peer supervision.
- Collaborating with external partners to ensure seamless patient care across the healthcare continuum.
- Building strong working relationships with VMO partners, leveraging a customer-centric approach to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current registration with AHPRA and valid working rights in Australia.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in an acute surgical or cardiac ward setting.
- Prior experience in High Dependency Unit (HDU) or ICU settings is highly desirable.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care aligned with ACQSHC National standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
