The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health Safety and Training Manager to join our team at our Curragh North project in Blackwater. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of site-based Health, Safety, and Training teams, ensuring that our project culture prioritizes health, safety, environment, and training management.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Manage the provision of HSET services to the business, leading and coordinating site-based teams
- Ensure compliance with project systems, practices, and standards
- Conduct daily reviews of incident reports within your area of responsibility
- Manage and coordinate team activities, setting performance objectives and allocating resources
- Build a strong HSET team capable of delivering on targets
- Provide solutions to technical, resourcing, and logistical problems
- Serve as a key promoter of the safety culture on the operation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a senior role and relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety and/or Environmental Management
- Understanding of workplace risk and 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and influence change with top-level management
- Minimum Diploma in OHS and/or Cert IV WH&S
- Demonstrated experience in open-pit mine operations
- Sound knowledge of QLD OHS legislation and mine regulations
