Health Safety and Training Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health Safety and Training Manager to join our team at the Curragh North project in Blackwater. As the HSET Manager, you will be responsible for the ongoing support of a project culture where all employees give priority to health, safety, environment and training management, procedures, practices, standards and targets.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the provision of HSET services to the business by leading and coordinating the activities of site-based Health, Safety and Training teams.
- Manage compliance systems, practices and standards across the project.
- Conduct daily reviews of all incident reports within your area of responsibility.
- Manage and coordinate team activities by setting performance objectives and allocating appropriate resources.
- Build a strong HSET team capable of delivering on targets.
- Provide solutions to technical, resourcing and logistical problems.
- Serve as the key promoter of the safety culture on the operation.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a senior role and relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety and/or Environmental Management. You should have a strong understanding of workplace risk and experience in managing both health and safety and environmental risks of a business. Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and influence change with top-level management is required.
Minimum requirements include a Diploma in OHS and/or Cert IV WH&S, demonstrated experience in open pit mine operations, and sound knowledge of QLD OHS legislation and mine regulations.
