General Manager of Technology

The role of the General Manager of Technology is to engage with the business to drive the technology strategy, proactively support continued business improvement and success, and lead the day-to-day ICT function.

You will be responsible for providing strategic advice on the ICT direction of the business, managing projects, governance, cyber risk, vendors and commercial management of ICT. This includes leading the strategic planning and implementation process to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritising initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development and deployment of new technology.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Proactively work with the Leadership Team, Board, and technology partners to support execution of the Group's strategy and contribute to broader business strategy.
  • Establish an ICT strategy forum - monthly meeting with department heads to align priorities, report on progress and seek feedback.
  • Develop and implement key governance frameworks, policies and processes to ensure that effective management of risks are in place.
  • Evaluate and improve the end-user experience and business outcomes with a focus on effective and regular engagement with the business and delivering solutions aligned to operational requirements.

**Requirements:

  • Previous experience leading teams and influencing at a senior leadership level.
  • Recent FMCG and retail industry experience: managing external service providers, demonstrated ability to identify and diagnose IT challenges, a track record of improving digital strategy outcomes, technical 'know how' with a commercial, customer first approach, and experience with Microsoft 365 technology suite.
