About the Role:

The AO5 Finance Business Partner is a key position within the Queensland State Government, responsible for providing high-level professional and strategic advice to divisions and senior managers regarding financial and performance reporting, budget management, and costing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and performance evaluation of key business units, providing insights and recommendations to drive business performance.
  • Lead the development of budgets and forecasts for assigned business units, collaborating with stakeholders to align financial objectives with organizational goals.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop financial plans and strategies, supporting the achievement of targets and cost efficiencies.
  • Assist in providing independent analytical reviews, forecasts, and advice regarding budgetary and financial issues and needs.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Requirements:

  • Sound skills in the use of MS Excel as well as SAP (preferred but not essential).
  • Relevant finance or accounting qualifications.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CA.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the public sector.
