About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our dynamic team at Qscan Group. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in providing financial guidance and support to our operations and management teams.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for creating a partnership with both operations and management, providing accurate financial reporting, analysis, and other commercial advice to enable effective decision-making. You will also lead a small team of accountants working alongside other finance functions to ensure all end-of-month processes are completed within business timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with business leaders to analyze, understand, and explain monthly financial results and assist with reporting
  • Partner with the operations team and provide value-adding, data-driven insights on operational performance and scope for business improvement
  • Oversee preparation and conduct ongoing analysis of Business Unit's financial performance, including tracking to budget
  • Ensure effective management of accountant team, including reviewing supporting workpapers, journals, and reports to achieve required reporting timelines accurately
  • Take on a support and mentoring role in the development of junior team members
  • Drive and assist with various projects in relation to Finance process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with the year-end audit and taxation compliance, including working with external auditors
  • Assist with taxation compliance, including Income Tax, FBT, and GST
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a background in Professional Services
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced use of formulas and functions, and the ability to create data insights. Previous experience with financial reporting and forecasting software packages
  • Leadership: Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships with operations and management, capability, and prior experience leading a small team
  • Qualifications: Degree-qualified in Commerce, Accounting, or similar discipline. CPA/CA qualified
  • Software Expertise: Experience with Business Central or other Microsoft financial reporting packages is advantageous
