
Risk Governance Specialist

This role plays a pivotal part in managing key risks that impact our strategic priorities. It involves developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise risk, ethics, and compliance matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong governance, risk, audit, and compliance experience, preferably in the public sector or professional services environment. They should possess a growth mindset, be curious about others' views, and able to put themselves in stakeholders' shoes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the organization's Strategic Direction and Outcomes
- Develop and execute programs as agreed upon, including overseeing external service providers
- Sponsor a positive risk culture and a culture of compliance across the organization
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the organization
Addition Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and improving the organization's Enterprise Risk Framework
- Conducting internal assessments, measurements, and monitoring of risk culture
- Collaborating with internal teams and Board sub-committees to support regular enterprise risk assessments
- Supporting the development and management of the organization's Business Continuity and Crisis Management documentation
- Providing guidance on functional areas compliance/monitoring activities
Qualifications include:
- 6-10 years demonstrated governance, risk, audit, and/or compliance experience
- Bachelor's degree in a business, governance, risk-related field
- Relevant qualification and professional industry certifications
