Job Description

The Head of Senior School Music is a pivotal role within the faculty, overseeing the development and implementation of music programs for senior school students. This position requires an experienced academic leader who can provide innovative leadership to staff and foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Steer both creative and academic aspects of senior school music programs.
  • Develop and implement vibrant, inclusive, and educationally enriching music programs and events.
  • Provide leadership to staff, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure student wellbeing and child safety are paramount in all decision-making.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in education or music with relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in secondary music education and curriculum.
  • Strong skills in information and communication technologies (ICT).
  • Commitment to co-curricular activities.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to lead a team and provide feedback on performance expectations.
  • Analytical skills, using educational data to enhance programs and teaching practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
