Job Description

Job Title: Project Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Director to lead our project team in delivering a complex project within the Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Leadership: Provide high-level leadership and direction to the project team to ensure the successful delivery of the project within the specified timeframes, budget, and quality standards.
  2. Strategic Advice: Provide expert advice to the Operations Project Control Group on strategic evidence-based, best-practice Psychology and Health Services, ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives and priorities of QCS.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively engage with other agencies in the health, allied health, and community welfare fields to inform information sharing, referral pathways, and service delivery design.
  4. Cultural Competence: Ensure culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
  5. Specialist Expertise: Provide specialist level of mental health/forensic psychology knowledge, clinical skills, and experience of implementation of clinical practice standards to provide advocacy and leadership for QCS professional staff.
  6. Research and Development: High-level knowledge and application of theories, models, and research for suicide prevention, psychological services in correctional settings, contemporary offender rehabilitation, and offender management.
  7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with all workstreams to deliver products that are aligned with the Operating Principles of QCS.
  8. Project Management: Lead the project team to ensure project outcomes and initiatives are delivered effectively and within specified project timeframes.
  9. Interdependencies: Manage interdependencies and coordination across the project, establishing and maintaining project management, governance, risk, project finance, and reporting system framework, standards, and tools.
  10. Project Planning: Oversee project planning activities to ensure that all phases of project development are completed within specifications, project timeframes, and within budget.
  11. Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with Custodial operations, Community Corrections, QCS Specialist Operations, Queensland Health, and a range of internal and external service providers and stakeholders.
  12. Best Practice: Develop and implement best practice project management principles, practices, methodologies, and tools to facilitate effective project delivery.
  13. Innovation: Manage the development of innovative, contemporary, and fit-for-purpose solutions in the project, ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives and priorities of QCS.
  14. Implementation: Manage the successful implementation of initiatives and project outcomes/recommendations, ensuring the intended benefits are realised.
  15. Representation: Represent QCS on relevant committees and provide advice and guidance.
  16. Leadership: Provide leadership to broader project teams to achieve QCS objectives under the direction of the senior leadership team.
