
Environmental Health Professional

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of licensed and registered premises to ensure adherence to environmental health regulations.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to direct reports to facilitate their growth and skill development.
- Investigate complaints related to health issues, including food-borne illness outbreaks, and take necessary regulatory action as per legislation.
- Prepare comprehensive assessments of development applications relevant to environmental health requirements.
- Offer expert advice and information to the community, local authorities, and stakeholders on community safety matters and legislative changes.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership of the Australian Institute of Environmental Health.
- Considerable experience as an Environmental Health Officer or similar position.
- Advanced technical skills and expertise in interpreting relevant Local Government, Public Health, and Environmental Legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed technical reports on investigations and outcomes of environmental, public, and community health issues.
- Excellent customer service, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in supervision, training, mentoring, and coaching staff.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence - Class C.
