Job Description:

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring public health and safety by carrying out routine inspections of licensed premises and providing guidance and support to team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled assessments of registered establishments to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
  • Offer coaching and mentoring to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Investigate complaints related to public health issues, including food-borne illnesses, and take necessary actions as per legislation.
  • Promote the well-being of the community by educating them on health-related matters and sharing relevant information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership of recognized professional bodies.
  • Significant experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or similar position.
  • Advanced technical skills and expertise in interpreting relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed reports on investigations and outcomes related to environmental and public health concerns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Experience in supervising, training, and mentoring staff.
