Healthcare professionals are in high demand, and a Nurse Officer role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference. The Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join their team.

Nurse Officer Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting medical assessments and supporting candidate screening in line with Defence protocols. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in patient care and documentation. They will also possess current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of 3 years' broad clinical experience in a comparable health system.

  • Conduct telephone vetting and face-to-face preliminary assessments
  • Review medical history questionnaires and document findings in electronic health records
  • Provide support and guidance to Medical Screeners
  • Complete medical file reviews and manage report requests
  • Monitor and maintain clinical equipment used during assessments

In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
