We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Insurance Broker Specialist to join our dynamic Affinity practice team at Marsh Pty Ltd. This role will be based in our Adelaide or Sydney office, with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate with colleagues in person.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing Client First Principles across your portfolio of medium to large accounts, ensuring high-quality customer service and consistent attainment of revenue and expense budgets. You will have the opportunity to foster effective long-term relationships with key client decision makers, monitor changes to preserve these relationships, and take a proactive approach to account management and service delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Consistently achieve agreed service standards by delivering exceptional customer service and meeting revenue and expense targets.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and insurer partners, leveraging your expertise to provide favourable outcomes for both parties.
  • Develop and implement successful account retention and defence strategies, working closely with claims colleagues to negotiate equitable claim settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of major classes of General insurance, staying up-to-date on new technical and product developments to inform your recommendations.
  • Stay informed about relevant legislation, including the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act and Insurance Contracts Act.

Requirements:

  • Tier 1 qualification is essential for this role, along with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in insurance broking or underwriting.
  • You should have a proven track record of managing a portfolio and looking after small to medium commercial accounts, with expertise in placing and advising on a wide range of insurance classes.
  • A strong commercial acumen, excellent delivery of technical, administrative, and consulting support to clients, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, are also required.
