Feedmill Operator

We are seeking motivated individuals to support our expanding team in the feedmill and commodity-related operations area.

This role involves working every day in the feedmill, supporting the production and distribution of sustainable feed.

You will be a proactive and positive member of the Hemmant team, with a passion for the poultry industry, a willingness to learn and be part of an expanding organisation.

We are looking for people who are flexible to cover rotating shifts and Saturday work as and when the need arises to support the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing and inspecting feed safely and systematically, according to quality specification
• Performing general hand tasks efficiently, assisting production staff and working to meet individual and group targets
• Completing manual handling duties - lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and reaching
• Ability to adapt new skills quickly across multiple functions of the mill
• Being an active, respectful team member that is reliable and honours work commitments
• Get involved with safety, follow the safety rules, speak up and be mindful of risks
• Cleaning duties and maintaining a clean work space
• Storing and maintaining materials, equipment and tools
• Identifying and escalating Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks.

Requirements:

• Capability to perform repetitious tasks efficiently, correctly and systematically in accordance with policies and standards
• Ability to understand, correctly interpret and follow instructions, procedures and information in a timely manner
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
• To be able to successfully communicate written and verbally
• A record showing work commitment, reliability and motivation
• Ability to respond calmly and methodically when faced with obstacles
• Good level of fitness are required as you will manually handle up to 25kg
• A forklift licence is required
