Senior Associate Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our Sydney Insurance practice. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with senior lawyers on complex general insurance and litigation matters.

The role involves handling high-value coverage disputes for professional institutions, financial institutions, corporate service providers, directors and officers (D&O), as well as providing clear written advice to clients.

You will also focus on defending professional liability claims, monitoring claims in other jurisdictions, and subrogated recoveries.

Our Sydney team has extensive experience across multiple lines of insurance work, with a particular depth of expertise in professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors' and officers' (D&O), medical malpractice, public and product liability, property and construction, energy, cyber, marine, transport, and employment.

  • High-value coverage disputes for financial institutions
  • Directors and Officers insurance
  • High-value professional liability claims
  • Subrogated recoveries on behalf of insurers
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in defendant insurance, from a reputable insurance team or firm
  • Ability to run with matters autonomously with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Desire to manage and mentor more junior lawyers in the team with file management and reviewing advices
  • Methodical and organized approach to file management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with excellent organization skills and attention to detail
