Role Overview

">Food Service Assistant

The role of a Food Service Assistant is to maintain a clean and tidy environment for all food service-related areas. This includes performing cleaning duties, monitoring and recording relevant food safety data, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness throughout.

This position also involves rotating between assisting the Stores Manager and the Kitchen Hand section, as well as assisting the Stores Manager with receiving supplies, managing FIFO stock, and ordering supplies.

Northern Beaches Hospital offers a fully licensed private hospital providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a wide range of quality services delivered by exceptional nurses, doctors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a clean and tidy environment in food service-related areas
  2. Perform cleaning duties, including cool rooms, preparation areas, kitchen, and dish wash area
  3. Monitor and record food safety data
  4. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure correct sanitation and infection control
  5. Assist the Stores Manager and Kitchen Hand sections
  6. Receive and manage supplies, order new stock, and conduct FIFO stock management

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
  2. Basic Food Handlers Certificate
  3. Flexible working hours, including morning and evening shifts
  4. Excellent communication and team work skills
  5. A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  6. Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Available to work early mornings starting at 6am and afternoons starting at 1:30pm
