Senior Network Safety Lead

AusNet Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Safety Lead to join our Asset Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Network Safety team's priorities and making a significant impact on our network safety activities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Work Activities: Develop, improve, monitor, and implement policies and strategies to meet regulatory Safety and Risk Obligations.
- Develop Strong Working Relationships: Establish a strong working relationship with the Energy Safety Victoria (ESV) and provide the key technical interface with ESV to ensure compliance with Electricity Safety Management Regulations, Electricity Safety Bushfire Mitigations Regulation, Electricity Safety Management Schemes (ESMS), and associated submissions.
- Process Improvements: Take ownership of process improvements initiatives, specification and standard improvements, and develop new methods of practice.
- Audit and Compliance: Attend audits and respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Document Management: Lead the update of relevant Network Safety documents (e.g., Safety Management Schemes).
- Risk Management: Support the monitoring and management of the Bush Fire Mitigation Index (BFMI).
- Internal Compliance Reporting: Ensure AusNet's compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Risk Mitigation Strategies: Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential risks on asset performance and reliability.
- Engineering Degree: Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Risk Mitigation, or equivalent is preferred.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrated high-level experience in engineering in the Utilities industry.
- Risk Mitigation and Asset Management: Extensive background in risk mitigation and asset management is mandatory.
- Stakeholder Management: Stakeholder management experience, prior dealings with regulators is desirable.
- Safety Matters Understanding: Proven understanding of the technical and economic regulations governing electrical networks.
- Legal Background: Legal background is highly desirable.
