Position: Cyber Security Analyst
Contract Duration: 12 months with potential extensions
Work Location: ACT

Key Responsibilities:
- Aligning security standards with the ISM, PSPF, Essential 8, and other industry best practices.
- Assisting in the preparation for IRAP assessments and ensuring thorough documentation.
- Aiding in the management and execution of IT security initiatives.
- Overseeing cyber risk to maintain secure departmental systems and services.
- Fostering and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure adherence to Australian Government Security Standards.
- Contributing to the planned transition of services to cloud environments.
- Providing cybersecurity guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Conducting security assessments and quality assurance reviews.
- Performing technical evaluations and endorsements of technical solution designs.

Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Security Analyst with a strong background in security monitoring, access control, application patching, and hardening, along with other related security analyst responsibilities.
- Familiarity with the application of Australian government security frameworks, including ISM, PSPF, and Essential 8, in large on-premise and cloud environments.
- Experience in supporting and contributing to IRAP preparation activities, ensuring accurate documentation in the management and implementation of IT security strategies, and identifying opportunities to enhance the security posture of the department's network and information.
