Job Opportunity

The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing data transitions from various systems to specific platforms. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams and suppliers to execute large-scale data migration projects.

Please note: this role will initially be a 12-month maximum term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of data migration projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to understand data migration requirements and objectives.
  • Design and implement robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from source to target systems.
  • Assess and optimize data quality during migration, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compatibility with existing and new systems.
  • Implement data validation and reconciliation processes to guarantee the integrity of migrated data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Develop documentation and provide training to internal teams on new data structures and processes.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualified in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Fundamental knowledge of the ITIL framework and/or other IT Service Management methodologies.
  • Solid experience in data engineering or migration role with a focus on internal business systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale data migration projects across finance, practice management/ERP, payroll, and human resources systems.
  • Proven expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, Practice Management Systems, and Finance systems architecture, data models, and integration mechanisms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to achieve the organization's objectives.
