Job Overview

The Project Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing Construction Contractor activities in accordance with established policies, standards, and major works contracts.

This key position involves ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects by collaborating with on-site contractors, stakeholders, and facilitating safe and efficient work practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic management of capital programs;
  • Monitoring and reporting contractor performance;
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry best practice;
  • Managing scope, variations, and quality control processes;
  • Inspecting and accepting completed facilities.
Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Proven project management and construction expertise;
  • Trade qualifications in Civil, Building, or Construction discipline or extensive relevant experience;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Building, Construction, or related engineering discipline with a Builders Licence under the provisions of the Builders registration Act;
  • Qualifications in Contract Administration and/or Project Management.
Desirable Skills

While not essential, the following skills are highly desirable:

  • Client-side construction management, project supervision, contract administration skills;
  • Experience in Civil Infrastructure, Services, Construction, or heavy maintenance;
  • Coordination and supervisory skills with knowledge of Equal Opportunity principles.
