Overview

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to oversee our global procurement initiatives. This role will focus on the strategic procurement function within the Minerals sector, specifically targeting procurement strategies, category management, and supplier development.

Responsibilities


• Collaborate with various business units and heads of procurement to establish effective supply strategies.

• Take ownership of the implementation and outcomes of the procurement sourcing strategy, leveraging the Minerals Global Procurement Category and Support teams. This includes managing equipment projects, standard equipment, services, parts, and both internal and indirect expenditures.

• Facilitate the global procurement process to ensure compliance and drive strategic procurement success on a daily basis.

• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and policy standards.

• Work closely with other heads of procurement to identify and capitalize on synergies.

• Develop and implement training programs for procurement functionality and employee development as necessary.

• Build and efficiently manage the procurement organization.

• Support supplier approval and removal policies and procedures.

• Exhibit strong leadership skills in supplier contract negotiations.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is required; advanced studies in procurement are preferred.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in business and procurement roles, demonstrating progressive responsibility.

• At least ten (10) years in a management capacity, ideally within a western, matrixed business environment.

• Five (5) years of experience in the Mining and Construction heavy industries or similar sectors.

• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills are essential.

• Strong understanding of business functions including sales, supply chain, engineering, finance, human resources, and IT infrastructure.

• Familiarity with SAP ERP systems is advantageous.

• Must possess a valid passport and be able to obtain necessary visas for international travel (up to 15% travel).

• Proven problem-solving abilities.

• High proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with knowledge of Lotus Notes.

• A self-motivated individual capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

• Excellent communication, cooperation, interpersonal, and presentation skills to manage both internal and external relationships.

• A strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.

• Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. Frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 9kgs. Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
