Piling Rig Operator Job Description

As a key member of our operations team, we are seeking an experienced Piling Rig Operator to join our crew.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating piling rigs within manufacturer specifications and in accordance with the direction of site civil engineers. This will involve dismantling, moving, and reassembling piling rigs and accessory plant, as well as working closely with driller offsiders to eliminate operating risks.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Operating piling rigs to construct foundation piles, bored piles, CFA piles, shoring piles, soldier piles, contiguous pile walls, secant pile walls, sheet piling, and screw piling;
  • Dismantling and reassembling piling rigs and accessory plant;
  • Collaborating with driller offsiders to ensure safe operation of piling rigs;
  • Performing minor maintenance and repairs, including cleaning and lubrication of piling rigs;
  • Documenting rig performance and maintaining operator's log books;
  • Implementing fall protection measures for open piles and ensuring safe operation of piling rigs;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in piling rig operations;
  • Proficiency in the English language;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong understanding of workplace WHS procedures;
