Your Opportunity

Berry Street is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our Crisis/Intake Response team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing support services to victim survivors of family violence and their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming calls and referrals from victim survivors, providing secondary consultations to professionals and short-term case management to those in crisis accommodation.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure the well-being of victim survivors.
  • Engage with victim survivors in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner, providing assertive outreach and advocacy services.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to ensure seamless referrals and support services.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalent experience in the family violence sector.
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and populations, including women and children who have experienced family violence.
  • Ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective safety plans.
