Therapist Role

We are seeking an experienced therapist to join our team, providing culturally safe and holistic healing approaches. The ideal candidate will work closely with other services and relevant organisations to achieve the best outcomes.

This role requires a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop trusted relationships. A commitment to ongoing learning and knowledge building is essential.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying VACCA's Cultural Therapeutic Ways framework, working in partnership with the community to address trauma and promote healing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the values that underpin our vision and purpose.
  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, with a high level of awareness of key issues impacting upon Aboriginal communities.
  • Understanding of child development and strength-based trauma-informed practice specific to sexual assault and the impact of trauma.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification and relevant experience working in a therapeutic or cultural healing context.
  • Full Victorian Driver's Licence, current Working With Children Check card, and clear National Police Check.
