**Clinical Midwife Opportunity**

Mater Mothers' Hospital is seeking two Clinical Midwives to join the team.

About the Role

This is a maximum-term position for 6 months, with the possibility of extension, working 34-38 hours per week.

We have two positions available:

  • Clinical Midwife – Coorparoo
  • Clinical Midwife - OMGP

Our Midwifery Group Practice enables women to be cared for and supported by a group of known midwives throughout their pregnancy, during birth and in the early weeks at home with a new baby.

This model recognises the benefits of continuity of care and enables midwives to work flexibly and to their full scope of practice.

In the OMGP team you will be caring for a smaller caseload of women who have additional medical complexities such as pre-existing diabetes or cardiac conditions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  1. Covering an on-call roster to provide evidence-based continuity of care for women from antenatal to intrapartum and up to 6 weeks postnatal
  2. Working within the community and hospital environment
  3. Working in partnership with women and the multidisciplinary team
  4. Supporting the Midwifery Unit Manager in service development and data collection
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for a role, you must have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA (no restrictions)
  • Recent experience working in antenatal, birth suite and postnatal settings
  • Experience of providing continuity of care to women (Desirable not essential)
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team
