Job Description:

This opportunity presents a unique chance for a General Practitioner to take on a GP VMO role in a rural setting, providing primary healthcare services to the local community.

Salary and Benefits

  • The successful candidate can expect an estimated annual salary of AU$150,000 - AU$200,000, depending on experience and billings.
  • In addition to a competitive salary, the practice offers a 65% share of general practice billings and 75% for after-hours, residential aged care, and home visits.
  • The hospital provides an $800 daily rate for on-call shifts, allowing the doctor to choose their days off and enjoy a better work-life balance.

About the Role

  • As a GP VMO, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients at the local medical centre and hospital.
  • You will also participate in on-call shifts, averaging between 3-4 times per week, with no weekend on-call required.
  • The hospital has a 1:1 model, ensuring that you have minimal administrative tasks and can focus on patient care.

Requirements

  • To be successful in this role, you must hold General Registration or Vocational Registration with AHPRA.
  • ALS2, REST, or equivalent certificate is also required.
  • Recent emergency experience within the last 12 months is necessary to ensure you are well-equipped to handle the demands of rural medicine.
