About the Role
A highly competitive salary package of $200,000 to $220,000 plus superannuation awaits an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a reputable mining operator in Australia. As a key member of the C-suite team, you will be responsible for driving financial strategies and ensuring timely and accurate ASX financial reporting.

Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will manage a finance team, oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. Your experience in managing financial risk, forecasting changes, and devising proactive solutions will be essential in driving business growth and success. Additionally, you will engage with senior leadership and stakeholders on financial matters, leveraging your excellent communication skills and ability to drive a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurate ASX financial reporting and tax compliance
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans
  • Manage financial risk, forecast changes, and devise proactive solutions
  • Coaching and driving performance of the finance team, promoting professional development and success
  • Engage with senior leadership and stakeholders on financial matters
  • Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A qualified accounting background with previous experience in the mining sector
  • Solid understanding of ASX financial reporting and accounting principles, ideally working in a large growing mining company and/or previous experience from the Big 4
  • Experience managing financial risk and forecasting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to drive a high-performing finance team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders
  • Previous experience with SAP will be highly regarded
